Research on Clinical Effects

To compare the effects of traditional decoction and granulated single herb decoction, the Pharmaceutical Office of Traditional Chinese Medicine contracted hospitals to undertake research in accordance with the requirements of clinical testing on new drugs.

Ten classical prescriptions were tested in 882 treated cases with 801 control cases. Statistics showed that the traditional decoction and the granulated single herb decoction both had significant therapeutic effect: eight prescriptions showed no significant variation between the effect of traditional decoction and granulated single herb decoction whilst two prescriptions showed higher therapeutic effect using the granulated single herb decoction individual decoction than the traditional decoction, testifying to the clinical efficacy of granulated single herbs.
